Many people use coriander in dishes like soups and salsas, as well as Indian, Middle Eastern, and Asian meals like curries and masalas. Coriander leaves are often used whole, whereas the seeds are used dried or ground.
How to grow:
- Split the seeds by placing them in a cloth bag and using a rolling. Apply a little force so the seeds crack open.
- Soak the seeds overnight to soften the outer layer or covering of the seed. This also helps fasten the germination process.
- Sow the seeds evenly on moistened medium and give the seeds a good spray of water
- Cover the seeds with a layer of the medium and allow to germinate for 10-14 days
- Once the seeds have germinated, place them in a bright area, but not under direct sunlight.
- When watering coriander, especially after germination, it is important to spray the medium with water to keep it moist. Do not pour water onto the medium as the young seedlings will get displaced.
